Even More-er PMC2 Guests Added
You know that amazing line up of Power Rangers cast and crew that was at Anime Expo last weekend? As it turns out, they’ll all be at PMC 2 and even more.
Rose McIver Peter Jackson at Comic Con
I’m just like any other girl. I spend my weekend nights pouring over the impending Comic Con Schedule wishing to be in the San Diego area and cursing the fact that I’m stuck in Iowa.
“But Meg, what does this have to do with Power Rangers?”
Yes, yes, a very astute observation. Yes, cast member(s) from the current season tried to get there. Or an extremely obsessed dedicated fan of Adelaide Kane tried to get them there. I’m still unclear on that one.
Sadly, there is nothing directly related to the current season or the show over all. Nothing like the hey day of the cast of SPD with the exclusive neato Drew Struzan posters.
“Okay, get to the point or I’m going lose interest real quick.”
Well, voice in my head, the Comic Con news isn’t directly related to power rangers, but at least to Rose McIver (Summer from Power Rangers RPM). Peter Jackson will be appearing in two panels on Friday’s schedule. The first will be covering the upcoming District 9 and a co-panel with King of the World, James Cameron on the future of movies.
Toy News: Democracy in Action
Allow me to change up the site title for the sake of this article: No Pink Spandex.
Okay, much better. We should avoid contradictions if at all possible. The internet is serious business after all.
In October of last year, Bandai left it up to the fans and/or readers of ToyFare magazine to choose the subject for the next line of chase figures. Issue #141 listed the options as the original Pink Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, Solaris Knight, Blue Dino Ranger and Omega Ranger.
The original Pink Ranger got 1,838 votes to Red Zeo Ranger’s 792. It is truly a testament to the fanbase’s desire to see a girl in pink spandex and a fairly lousy selection of other choices appreciation of good design and a positive female role model.
I’ll admit, I voted for her through the ToyFare website (Sorry, Lisa).

Blake Foster on MTV’s Is She Really Going Out With Him?
Blake Foster and his girlfriend Michele recently appeared on the MTV reality series Is She Really Going Out With Him?
Inspired by the popular website Hot Chicks with Douchebags, Is She Really Going Out With Him? is a hilarious and compelling docu-format show that aims to tear down the mystery behind pop culture’s latest unexplainable phenomenon: beautiful and innocent young sweethearts who fall for self-absorbed, overly-tanned, tattoo covered douchebags.
In each episode of Is She Really Going Out With Him? we’ll closely examine one couple as our hot chick eventually leads herself towards making a fateful decision… Will she stay with her douchebag bf or move on to a better man?
Huh. Not exactly good PR. That’s “PR” as in “public relations” in Hollywood speak, not “Puerto Ricans” or “Power Rangers” as I often struggle with. Really, part of me wants to be sympathetic to Foster as he seems to be a relatively decent guy (at least from Lisa’s interview with him) and his tweeny character from Power Rangers Turbo receives the brunt of the fan hate.
Most American TV viewers in this day and age know and accept that the word “reality” in the term “reality TV” is a stretch of the imagination. The subjects are scripted, edited, and pop-up text blurbed into whatever little hole the producers want to peg them into. Some slack can be cut.
However, as the rumors are wont to do, they’re just flying around in the fandom. Please bear in mind that these are rumors I’m about to post and comment on. I’m not sure how much should be taken with all the salt of the Atlantic Ocean and what may have a granule of truth to it.
Here’s something I have a problem with. MR-Aftershock on Rangerboard, who claims to know Foster made this post:
When Blake auditioned, they were told the show was called “Good Girl with the Bad Boy”
Take a second to think about that.
So Foster thought he was signing up for a show called “Good Girl with the Bad Boy.” Really? Really?!
You know what’s a less subtle douche-trap? A box held up by a stick with a string attached to it that says “Free Ed Hardy tees, DC shoes, and Tats.” Really.
You know who refers to themselves as “Bad Boys” and are serious about it? Douchebags. You know who’s really a bad boy? No one. I’m fairly certain that term was invented for a Martin Lawrence and Will Smith movie and that’s all it was ever intended to be. Really.
And who directed Bad Boys? Notable douchebag about town, Michael Bay. Really.
I can’t imagine the pitch for this thing, but I’ll sure try:
For US viewers the entire episode can be viewed here on the MTV website.

More and More Guests for Power Morphicon 2010
Power Morphicon has announced the more guests! At this rate, a better question would be to ask who is NOT going!
BLAKE FOSTER
As Justin Stewart, Blake portrayed PR’s first and only Tweenager with Attitude. An experienced martial artist then, and an even greater one now, Blake is the only Ranger actor to appear with both Chuck Norris and Hilary Duff.
RON WASSERMAN
Also known to Power Rangers fandom as Aaron Waters or The Mighty RAW, Ron Wasserman wrote, performed and scored some of the most memorable music from MMPR’s first three seasons, including 5-4-1, We Need a Hero, Go Green Ranger, and the legendary Bulk and Skull theme song. He also performed the PRiS and PRSPD themes.
VALERIE VERNON
As PRLG’s Kendrix Morgan, Valerie was not only the first female tech-geek Ranger, but was the first Power Ranger to fall in the line of duty. From her own struggle to overcome leukemia, Valerie continues to display a depth of courage that would do any Ranger proud.
Chris Violette and Daniel Ewing Cancel Anime Expo Appearances
Looks like Chris Violette (Sky from Power Rangers SPD) and Daniel Ewing (Dillon from Power Rangers RPM) are out of commission for Anime Expo. Chris had to cancel due to a family emergency and Daniel’s passport will not be delivered in time for the event.
Due to Chris and Daniel’s absence, Selwyn Ward (TJ from Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers in Space) and Roger Velasco (Carlos from Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers in Space) will be filling in for them on Thursday. This does NOT affect their scheduled appearance through-out the weekend. They will still sign on Friday, all day, and Saturday after the panel.
There is also the possibility that Monica May may not at Anime Expo as well. This is unconfirmed.
