Summer News Round Up!

The No Pink Spandex crew were busy all summer, so I present to you the Summer News Round Up! (A few news stories that we missed, oops!)

- Peta Rutter (Udonna from Power Rangers Mystic Force) passed away July 2010 from a brain tumor. Our condolences to her family.

- Saban Brands, Nickelodeon, and Power Rangers were in full force at San Diego Comic-Con July 2010. Not only were there Rangers in costume, but Adelaide Kane (Tenaya 7 from Power Rangers RPM) was in costume…as Wonder Woman. Awesome, but dressing up as Tenaya 7 would be awesomer!

- John Green from GrnRngr.com interviewed Dan Evans, producer in charge of Disney’s MMPR “reversioning”. He talks about the process and why certain choices were made. Also, Evans is now at Nickelodeon.

More to come of the Summer News Round Up, because there are just some things that need their own time to shine. Trust me!

Jason David Frank Filming “The One Warrior”

Jason David Frank is currently in Alabama filming a fantasy/action film called The One Warrior for 20 days. Jason as The One Warrior “finds himself in a mythical world where he must destroy the Evil Lord Shoukata, but to do so he must first fight his way through many challenges. Ones that include dragons, the cursed swords of Damacleus, the Samurai Six, the Amazon Warriors and much, much more. And with each level he passes through the more powerful he becomes, until finally at the end we find out that it is really a man who has been testing a new video game. Or was it? The truth may never be known”.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight has been cancelled here in the US, but the Japanese seem to love their Len and Kit bromance. The first of DVDs will be released in June, and here’s the cover. Wasn’t a fan of the show, but that is one good-looking cover.

Adam Tuominen (Hunter from Power Rangers Ninja Storm) recently filmed an indie film called I, Rot. The synopsis: Meet Pete Waterman, The Most Rotten Man Alive. (Adam’s not Pete Waterman, by the way. Johnny Yong Bosch is filming a new film Love Like Bullets, a shoot-em-up in which “a hired assassin risks his life to protect a beautiful young prostitute who has captured his heart”. The screenplay is written by Johnny himself, and directed by David Wald (Stunt Actor from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie – Power Rangers Wild Force). Below are pictures from the set:
