No outro music?

Echoing Avid Listener… your podcast cut off again. (Third time this has happened).

So… it had been about 20 years since I had seen an episode of Zeo. I remember liking Zeo, and I keep hearing Lisa talk about how great it was. Due to movie news, and friends finding out that I hadn’t seen Breaking Bad, I am now on Netflix doing my thing, and yes, that includes rewatching Zeo.

I’ve managed finishing nearly two seasons of Breaking Bad and 6 episodes of Zeo. I… just…can’t. So I skipped ahead to Turbo. Even though I hated Justin in the original run, I kind of don’t now… how the hell?

Basically, my question to Lisa is this: is your liking Zeo based on your memory as a kid versus your memory as an adult? I think because I grew up with the show, and the show grew up with us, we sort of forget what the show was like in its infancy. I will try to push through, (I remember it being “slow” in the beginning) and hope that my mind is changed.

…is it sad that I still know every word to the background music to Zeo and Turbo. (Reminder: I haven’t seen either since original airing).

Alright: I didn’t take notes, so I am going off of memory responses.

1. Thank you for putting together this podcast. I’ve been trying out The Onyx Tavern for a while, but it’s not the same. I like having contrasting opinions on podcasts versus a lone rambler (no offense Ricky). That’s why I used to like GirlsHeartGeeks before youtube banned them…two guys giving an open and honest perspective on all things power rangers, while watching each episode. Great stuff. But they were banned.
——————
2. About the movie: I have no opinion for it. It’s just “there”. I wasn’t allowed to see the first movie when I was 8, and had to wait a full ten years before seeing it. And, I haven’t bothered with it since. (I even own it, and don’t watch it. But I know all of the music to it… strangely enough).
——————–
3. Lisa, I think you are talking about needing a show like Garo for US audiences. (Golden Knight Garo (黄金騎士ガロ Ōgon Kishi Garo) It’s for an older mature audience. There is also Kamen Rider Amazons (2016). (Plural not singular). There is Shougeki Gouraigan.

In terms of a mature PRU, we had RPM. I still wish Eddie G finished it. I really wonder how he would have ended it. (Not to throw shade at Chip. I just really appreciated what Eddie G. did for the PR franchise… he gave the show grit).

As an aside, I appreciate Chip Lynn for bring respect back to the PRU. What he has done for Dino Charge, has been helping undo the nonsense that was the previous several years. Thanks, Chip).

4. “Ninja Steel”. I haven’t finished Ninninger. Whoops. I watched roughly five episodes of the new sentai. Just can’t do the playschool toys theme, sorry. I liked the trains. But this… shouting colors, names, and twisting obvious plastic kiddie blocks… *looks at floor*

I theoretically should be happy for Ninja Steel, but I am not. I know why: we haven’t closed the book on Dino Thunder. As a viewer, I want to know how their story ends first, before redirecting my attention to something else. And, it looks like we have to wait for the final chapter AFTER PMC5. *smh*

5. Speaking of PMC5. Hope to see you there. Well, I don’t advertise my true identity, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure me out. So if you put it together, great. If not, who cares? Right. You’ll probably hit me over the head with the nearest object for writing these long responses: “wtf, man!” I wouldn’t blame you. lol.

Though, each podcast deserves feedback. One liners simply don’t work for me. Except in person.
——————
6. About regular folks who know that I am a fan, and who go bat shit over pr news: it’s crazy. I am pretty to myself about pr. I don’t say much about it. Now, on my fb, friends are posting pr content on it. “OMG! Look at this article!”, “I thought of you!”, “Did you hear?”, etc..

I find this interesting. Years ago, being a fan wasn’t something 100% acceptable. I was made fun off for YEARS (well into my 20s), and now suddenly, it’s “hey, this is cool. You’re cool”. It’s suddenly a “cool” thing to talk about, and they seek out the one fan that they know.

My stomach does a little flip when I see pr trending on fb or twitter. Why did it take mainstream media so long? For all of the years of torment, and now, “it’s cool again?” Or are we going to experience a post-mmpr in a few years? Where everyone jumps off the bandwagon, and we are left with haters? (Remember liking Zeo, when no one else would look you in the eye? Suffering through Turbo with pr haters? Yeah…)

I just hope the movie does well, for our sake. (For the fans who have been around for the last million years…)

7. Please do another podcast. This fangirl misses you four.

Edit in CAPS.

I’m tired. Sorry.

Great great podcast once again! I think NPS is slowly becoming my favourite podcast, I love all the interactions between you guys even when you get off topic, I like how in-depth and passionate you all are whilst always retaining a sense of humour because god knows this fandom needs one sometimes!

I had to make two 6 hour coach journeys a week ago and I found myself replaying old episodes to pass the time and it made being confined in a smelly coach for longer than anyone would want a lot more enjoyable!

Thanks so much for this podcast and I’ll patiently wait for the next one :-)

P.S. UK NPS fans represent!

Going to see why the outro music is getting cut off. The podcast does end where it’s supposed to, so the good thing is no one is missing any content.

Thanks guys!

What I really think they have planned with the movies, is to build up to their own “Infinity War” (Imagine Countdown to Destruction with a budget). For that to pay off they would have to introduce other teams of rangers to team them up for a big climatic battle.
