Power Rangers Dino Charge will be returning this fall with its final batch of new episodes. In honor of that, I decided that now would be a good time to count down every season of Power Rangers from worst to best. Where does your favorite season land on my list? What does your list look like by comparison? I’m going to tell you the good, the bad, and the truly ugly that has befallen this storied franchise. I hope you’ll tell me what I got right and what I got oh so wrong.

Jayden finishes his grand battle against Deker and the other Rangers try to convince him to rejoin their team before Master Xandred reawakens.

With Master Xandred back on Earth, the Rangers finally attempt to use the Sealing Symbol to stop him – only to discover that he has a special new defense against it. Now, they must rise to the challenge and find a new way to defeat him and save the world.

220 – Samurai Forever
In a climactic battle, the Rangers face off against Master Xandred for the last time.

So when will Power Rangers Samurai start up again? According to Burgundy Ranger at Power Rangers On-Air Schedule, Samurai will be preempted until, at the very earliest, October 13th. If the season finale is suppose to premiere before December 4th, that’s not leaving a lot of weeks left for the show to air. I see a marathon of new episodes in the near future…

LOS ANGELES (July 10, 2012) – Saban Brands’ Power Rangers will be back again at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International 2012, taking place July 12-15. The brand will have a bigger presence at SDCC than ever before, with POWERED Up news and events to celebrate the past, present, and future of the Power Rangers brand.

Saban Brands will kick off the show with a special Shout! Factory panel on Thursday, July 12. Fans knew something was up when Power Rangers Samurai gave us a big kick in rear into their 3rd episode as passed that off as a premiere. Since then, we’ve been waiting to see the actual premiere, and it’s coming!

Up until last week, The Licensing Book Blog said that the “Power Rangers Samurai Origins special…will air on Nickelodeon in September”. But now, the blog is singing a different tune and “September” is nowhere to be found in the article. Notice the differences below:

According to the official Power Rangers Facebook page, Power Rangers Samurai will be back with new episodes later this summer.

The cast of Power Rangers Samurai will be appearing at San Diego Comic-Con July 21-24 in San Diego, CA. Their panel on July 23rd at 7/6c will not only be moderated by Paul Schrier (Bulk from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), there will be a screening of a new episode. Could it be the premiere that we still haven’t seen? My word, I kind of hope so!

Let it suffice to say that I’m happy and proud to be back on the series…pleased to see my friends from the past coalescing into a potent force once again at Saban Brands, and totally STOKED to be appearing on Nick. With this two season run of Samurai, you’ll get more of a chance to love these characters, more opportunities to enjoy the show…and as has already been pointed out…the footage is crystal clear…welcome to HD MMPR!

There has been speculation as to whether Samurai’s 40-some-odd episodes would be stretched out to 2 seasons, and that seems to be the case. OR could they be keeping the same cast to morph into different suits and mecha for next year? The latter may be slim because casting only asked for the new cast to relocate for about 6-8 months, but who knows. Things could change!

Who is Rick Medina? Don’t you know he’s the superstar Ricardo Medina, Jr. (Cole from Power Rangers Wild Force)? How dare you not know about his follies with his co-stars Hector David, Jr., Najee De-Tiege, and Brittany Pirtle? How dare you call yourself a fan by not saving every single one of their New Zealand excursions captured digitally for our enjoyment? How dare you sit there and not parse every Facebook status that led us closer and closer to the Promise Land that is…Ricardo. Medina. Jr.!? Sorry, I have misspoken. Rick Medina.

Rick Medina graced us with his wit and charm, and after he burned every single shirt he ever owned, he is no longer with us. In cyberspace. What will we ever do without Rick? I can hear him now, warning me to “STOP!” from a mile away after he’s taken his time to stop as well. I can see him now, riding majestically through the anus of a giant serpent. That’s how it’s done. I grieve for my loss, but not for long.

Rick Medina, you will rise again and give forth your excellence to the masses. You will surpass your predecessors. You will triumphantly look down upon the weak. So until you return, I will disseminate to the laymen and let them know of your legacy thus far. No matter how much they try to fight the inevitable, Rick Medina will never give up.

The new PowerRangers.com website is up and has revealed the new season: Power Rangers Samurai. Here’s the summary:

A new generation of Power Rangers must master the mystical and ancient Samurai Symbols of Power which give them control over the elements of Fire, Water, Sky, Forest, and Earth. Under the guidance of their all-knowing mentor and the aid of their devoted animal Zords, they battle the dark forces of the Netherworld and a mysterious Warrior bent on destruction.

The site has also revealed the new cast of rangers: Alex Heartman, Jayden the Red Ranger, Najee De-Tiege, Kevin the Blue Ranger, Hector David, Jr., Mike the Green Ranger, Erika Fong, Mia the Pink Ranger, and Brittany Pirtle, Emily the Yellow Ranger.

The new season premieres in February 2011 on Nickelodeon.
